Operating systems provide a software platform on top of which other programs - application programs can run, while the application programs must be written to run on top of a particular operating system.
The OS partition is the disk partition that contains Windows Operating System files and its support files. An OS partition is also being called system partition or C drive, with system and other programs installed on it, OS is the most important part of a hard disk. For operation on OS partition like extending OS partition, it is needed to check whether it is 32 bit partition manager or 64 bit partition manager.
The conditions of OS partition will largely affect the performance of your computer. When space of OS partition gets low, the computing speed will slow down and Windows keeps alerting your computer is low disk space because the system partition is out of space, thus how to allocate proper space for OS partition or extend OS partition to get the best use of your computer when necessary is very important.
Just take a look at this scenario, you will get why we might need to extend OS partition. For example, having a 40 GB system partition might seem too much at the beginning, but you might find it to be less than optimal after a while if you install the OS and those many applications 64-bit-partition-manager that make your computer life easier, while some of which like Microsoft Office etc can take tons of free space. You will have to extend OS partition size sooner or later unless you keep upgrading hardware.
Usually in this condition, reliable partitioning software - EaseUS Partition Master will ease the job in extending OS partition.
Does your computer run more and more slowly? I think it is the time to extend your OS partition now.
